April Newsletter

Dear Himalaya Projekt Friends

as fresh as springtime, we received some news concerning our projects in Nepal, which we would like to share with you.

Project 1 Samar Gompa Upper Mustang Nepal:

The 72 Prayer wheels were produced, the Mantra rolls for the Prayer wheels were rolled and afterwards put into the Prayer wheels, and each Prayer wheel was separately boxed. The transport from Swoyambhu-Kathmandu to Dschang Chub Chö Ling Gompa (monastery), Hemza, Tibetan Refugee camp Pokhara, was finished successfully at the 2nd of March, there the Prayer wheels were blessed by Shangpa Rinpoche. Afterwards they will be transported to their actual destination to Samar. Here a few impressions of the whole activity:

Project 6 Tibetan Refugee camp Hemza - Pokhara/ Nepal:

In April Anna Elisabeth Bach will visit some projects in the Himalaya with a travel group. They will also visit the kindergarten of the Tibetan Refugee camp Hemza. For the local kids there we have collected winter clothes, cuddly toys and playthings. Our youngest collector has chosen busily what makes kid’s hearts skip.

Project 3 Manjughoksha-Academy/ Sponsorship in demand:

Furthermore we are urgently looking for the absorption of costs concerning the fees for the boarding school of little Anil from April on. Both of the family’s cows died, which means that they lost their whole income, so they had to sell all their land and now they have a lot of debts. We plan to support the family, so that in the future they will become able to self-finance their life again. First of all we are looking for someone who will support one of their sons financially.

Anil is able to visit school as a boarding school pupil, which costs monthly 61, 40 Euros. Every part of the total sum is also very welcome.

For further questions please contact Miriam Bastug: miriam.bastug@himlayaprojekt.org

Furthermore we are looking for small presents for the kids of the Manjughoksha-Academy (elastics, skipping ropes, stickers, balloons, coloured pencils, quiz card games in English, etc.), which our trainee will take along to the school. If you have something that fits we are very happy, also in this case please contact Miriam Bastug:

miriam.bastug@himalayaprojekt.org.

In the end we are looking for someone who will pay for the transport by bus, there is still a sum of 40 Euros monthly missing for the transfer of the pupils to the Manjughoksha- Academy. Here as well every part of the total sum is also very welcome. Also in this case please contact Miriam Bastug:

miriam.bastug@himalayaprojekt.org

With best wishes
